Why is the intake manifold so big? The 12v V6 engine uses a dual path intake manifold:
The first path has long, narrow air intake tracts that make the intake air move quickly, which
boosts
low-end torque.
The second path has short, wide air intake tracts that allow a higher volume of air through,
which boosts
high-end power.
