As detailed in the Fuel Pump info in the Engine Bay Device Map, our C4 AAN engined cars have the fuel pump in the fuel tank. This fuel pump pushes the fuel to the Fuel Filter and then through the fuel rail and past the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR). After the FPR, the remaining fuel drains back to the tank through a second fuel line. There is also a third fuel line that channels fuel vapours to a Evaporative Emissions System. In dry climates, the fuel lines don't seem to have a problem with corrosion.

However, in moister climates, particularly where salt is used on the roads in the winter, fuel line corrosion can and does happen, particularly under the clamps that hold the fuel lines to the Chassis. Fred Munro of Sudbury Ontario wrote a great DIY on fuel line maintenance:
