This is an RS2 transmission. The rear section with the cast-in guide
for ProConTen cables can be seen clearly. The transmissions in the
large bodied cars, UrS4/S6 and V8s, do not have this cast-in guide.
The large bodied cars use a bolt-on ProConTen guide that bolts on top
of the center section of the transmission.
This also gives a good view of the center section with the bumped
out area for a wide 1st gear. In this photo, the center section
has a noticably darker color than either the rear section on the
right or the front differential / bell housing section to the left.
This transmission still has the CBR type shift plate on the top.
The CBD has the shift pivot coming off the cover that houses the
backup light switch on the top right side.
