OK, here's the vac recovery kit, what it'll cost, and how to install it...

First off the installation instructions are for a 96 A4. The 97 guys may have some AC line problems with mounting in this location.

The kit consists of the following pieces:

1. Vac reservoir tube with 1/8" NPT barb fitting
2. ScotchBrite pad for prepping if painting
3. Long siliconized rubber hose for routing from vac solenoid to firewall.
4. Short siliconized rubber hose for vac reservoir to fire wall.
5. Tie wraps for securing to plastic rain catch/drain pan
6. Grommet for drilled hole in firewall.
7. The stock hard green line is to be used from your disconnected vac reservoir.

All of this can be done with battery mounted in place.

1. Drill a 15/64" or letter "C" hole diameter thru firewall at location shown.

2. Install grommet

3. Drill 4ea 3/16" holes in drip pan at location shown approx 1"-1.25" apart and equi-distant from upper edge.

4. Installe tie-wraps thru holes and secure vacuum reservoir. Snip excess cable once tightened.

4. Cut a 3" long piece of your stock green vac line

5. Run the 3" piece of hard green vac line halfway thru the grommet so that 1.5" is protruding from each side.

6. Route long vac line from solenoid to hard green line.

7. Install vac line to reservoir nipple then push other end on to hard green line protruding into battery compartment.

8. Holding the vac line on both sides of the firewall push hose tightly up to grommet over green hard line from both sides at the same time. Once done both pieces of the silicone will be flush against the grommet and appear to be one solid line going thru the firewall.
