You guys that have done the IM workshop are gonna LOVE the cylinder head workshop...

The alloy used on the heads is so easy & forgiving to work with. Cleans, ports and polishes so easily... almost effortless.

In the pic above I've already removed all the material obstructing the intake path and injector spray pattern area. Took less than 30 minutes to do all three with a carbide bur. Then I polished the intake ports to a 60grit finish removing seams and sand-cast roughness in another 30 minutes. Total time: 1 hour.

I'll still do a little more work towards the valve guide area but not until new valve guides and larger valve seats are installed as I want to shape the guide protrusions into the intake bore and smooth out any sharp edges or ridges created by installing new, over-size valve seats.

All in all the heads are going to be much much faster/easier going than the IM was with it's high nickel content and associated hardness. The heads on our cars are easy as shaping room-temp butter or bar soap... way easy!

The pic above is how our heads should look down the injector path once gasket-matched. Now the IM outlet, gasket and cylinder head intake ports are all matched to each other.

Pardon my pic quality in these latest posts as I'm working on a borrowed laptop with my old camera and can't get the kind of quality I'm used to. But I think everyone gets the idea.
